Class Description
This is a 16-hour (2-day) course that focuses on how to utilize a range of electronic surveillance investigative tools and techniques to initiate, develop, and conclude large-scale and complex drug trafficking investigations. This course is designed for officers who have some experience working complex drug trafficking investigations. The course will emphasize the investigation of cellular telephones, including physical searches of cellular telephones, the collection of GPS data from cellular telephones, and the use of wiretaps of cellular telephones. The course will also discuss the latest developments in wiretap interceptions and how to execute wiretaps of internet-based communications such as Facebook and WhatsApp. The course will include case examples that illustrate the various electronic surveillance investigative techniques.
