Class Description
This is a 40-hour course designed for public safety personnel who actively investigate, dismantle, collect evidence and process clandestine drug laboratory operations. Practical SCBA and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) exercises will be conducted throughout the course. These exercises include, but are not limited to: entering, processing and dismantling of clandestine laboratory operations. This course complies with standards set by OSHA (29CFR1910.120) and provides certification to enter and process clandestine laboratories; therefore, students must attend all 40-hours of training. Students should be in a current drug task force assignment, or pending immediate transfer to a drug task force. Students are encouraged to be clean shaven (jaw line and chin areas), to ensure proper fit of SCBA.
It is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED that students to bring their own HAZMAT boots, chemical tape, flashlights, and SCBAs to class. This is to ensure that students are familiar with their own equipment. If you have any questions or concerns about any of the above information, please feel free to contact the RMHIDTA training staff.
