Class Description

This is an eight (8) hour Clandestine Laboratory Safety Recertification Course. You must have completed a forty (40) hour Clandestine Laboratory Safety Certification Course in order for this to fulfill your yearly Clandestine Laboratory Safety Recertification Course requirement in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(q) (Emergency Response Operations). Students are responsible for attending all eight (8) hours of training. Topics covered in the course include: Basic Laboratory Review (most common "cooking" processes); Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Decontamination; Indoor Marijuana Grows; OSHA Standards; and Administrative functions. This course is a vital component of any law enforcement agency's clandestine laboratory safety program. Students will be exposed to the responsibilities on how to properly develop site-specific health and safety programs for clan lab operations and make appropriate health and safety decisions in the field that effect officer safety. Actual documentation requirements as well as appropriate safety precautions are used during the classroom exercises to enable officers to practice decision making as site safety officers. This course meets the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120, Hazardous Waste Operations, pertaining to Clandestine Drug Lab operations. Students will receive detailed information regarding laws, regulatory issues, and liability regarding the supervision of clan lab operations. Students attending this course will receive a certificate of completion.

If you have not completed a forty (40) hour Clandestine Laboratory Safety Certification Course, this course will be considered a clandestine laboratory awareness course.
