Class Description

One of the fastest growing areas of the illegal drug trade is the misuse and abuse of pharmaceutical drugs. The sales of street drugs are done on street corners or drug houses. How does this effect pharmacists? Many drug abusers are starting out on legal drugs sold by pharmacists. This class will identify some of the more commonly abused pharmaceutical drugs and how a pharmacist can help identify abusive purchasers versus legitimate purchases. The class will show how abuse of legitimate drugs can lead to abuse of street drugs and the problems it has created for pharmacists.
