Class Description

Course Description: This course introduces students to the basic understanding of communication technologies. Utilizing lecture the instructor will describe cellphone communication architecture, cellphone geolocation, IP address, online communication and strategies in analyzing communication. The instructor will teach students how to read, analyze, and interpret communication data and inform them of the latest updates on iOS/Android that could affect law enforcement investigation. This course is for those with little or no experience/understanding of certain communication technology. Upon course completion, students will have a better understanding of how different types of communication technology work and some ideas for improving their performance as a Law Enforcement Officer when handling and investigating communication devices.
