Class Description
Course Description - This course is designed to teach law enforcement officers and other first responders who conduct counterdrug activities and drug interdiction how to treat and manage trauma patients in a civilian tactical environment. TacMed is a highly tailorable class that utilizes a mix of classroom presentation and hands-on skills practice. Attendees will learn how to provide life-sustaining treatments in threatening environments. Instructors will leverage overseas and domestic military experiences in order to illustrate and convey lessons learned in hostile situations. Upon course completion, students will be able to identify and treat the leading causes of preventable death in a multi-phase tactical environment.
Target Audience – Law Enforcement Officers, Military Personnel and Community Based Organizations.
Prerequisites – There are no special prerequisites for this class.
Course Standards - Students will be expected to attend class, participate in discussions and actively participate in group exercises.
